This rug is an ode to the 1977, Japanese horror-comedy film House, or Hausu, directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi. It's a bizarre and surreal trip, and a must-see if you haven't watched it yet! The rug design of the cat is pulled from the Criterion cover for the movie.
